Charlie Stewart

Charlie was born in 1953. At the age of seventeen , whilst working as a psychiatric nurse, he started writing poetry. His interests also turned to music, forming the early line-up, with the late Michael Danby, of the cult band, Laughing Gravy. In 2006 he went back to writing poetry and has been widely published in England, Canada, Australia, Ireland and the U.S.A.

Charlie, a resident of Easingwold, died suddenly on February 27th, 2017. His humour, intelligence and quiet demeanour are sadly missed. His simple, yet profound poetry lives on.
